On April 26, 2023, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated 576 newly constructed residential accommodations for PM Package Employees in Baramulla, Bandipora, Ganderbal, and Shopian districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The event was held to mark the government's commitment to provide adequate facilities for the future prosperity and dignity of employees.

During the inauguration, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the government's commitment to expedite the construction of residential accommodations for Kashmiri migrant families. He also announced that 2000 more flats would be completed by December 2023, and the administration has taken various initiatives to speed up the process of housing construction for PM package employees.

Sinha also spoke about the remarkable progress in various sectors, including industries, empowerment of citizens, building competitive economies, and inclusive society. He emphasized that the young generation is J&K's greatest asset, and they should take the lead in building a stronger, prosperous, and more dynamic J&K.

The Lieutenant Governor spoke about the need to tap the growth potential of various priority sectors, extend hand-holding to budding entrepreneurs, create large self-employment opportunities, and ensure fast track and transparent recruitments. He also mentioned the initiatives taken to boost infrastructure, employment generation, and ease of living in the UT.

Safina Baig, DDC Chairperson, Baramulla, highlighted the importance of the newly constructed transit accommodations for boosting communal harmony and brotherhood in Kashmir. Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary, also emphasized the efforts of the administration in the timely completion of the residential accommodations for PM Package Employees.

The event was attended by senior officers from Civil Administration & Police, PRI members, and prominent citizens. The Lieutenant Governor's speech showcased the government's commitment to provide better facilities to employees and ensure growth and development in various sectors of the UT.
